About
I received my BA (Hons) in Film Studies from Southampton Solent University along with a Dissertation Award for my study of Clive Barker's Queer Monsters, examining the potential for progressive queer representation in the horror genre. An updated version of this was presented as a paper at the "Clive Barker: Dark Imaginer" conference at Trinity College in Dublin, 2011.
I have completed a Masters with Merit at Brunel University in Cult Film and Television. I am now researching for a PhD, with the working title of "Theorising Fan-Producers: Re-examining Fandom, Resistance and Opposition" which aims to redefine the way audiences and audience interactions are interpreted and understood. My latest research has examined the institutional contexts of the Fan-Producers and some of this was presented in a paper at the Alien Nation conference on British Telefantasy in Newcastle, 2011.
I am also currently working on a paper for a book on the "Twilight saga", examining sadomasochism in the series.
