About

I am currently a lecturer in climate change at Brunel University. I am developing a research group looking at climate dynamics.

Before this I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in Prof. Geraint Vaughan's Dynamic Meteorology group at the University of Manchester. The aim of that research was to understand how thunderstorms form. In particular, I looked at the impact of upper level atmospheric features, analysing observational data, mainly from the Convective Storm Iniation Project (CSIP) and the German run COPS (Convective and Orographically-induced Precipitation Study) campaign and computer model data.

I did my PhD at the University of Birmingham and the British Antarctic Survey; my viva was in April 2005. The aim of that research was to identify atmospheric circulation signals in an Antarctic ice core.
